Another growing product that I wanted to talk about is the Jiffy Peat Pellet. They are sold with standard garden trays in the big box stores. The trays are outfitted with a pattern that holds the pellets in place. We bought these for last year, since it was our first year starting from seed. We had a couple hundred left over and we decided to use them up this year.
They worked pretty well for us. Just moisten the pellets and they expand to the shape shown in the photos. This method is also not very sustainable, just like buying the AeroGarden products. You have to buy these little pellets every time you want to plant and I'm sure soil will work just as well. Nonetheless. We have them and they work, we will not be purchasing them again though because they aren't necessary for great vegetable starts. Regular dirt from here on out.

This is our grow station so far. There are over 250 peat pellet starts there.
Since we have't really done starts without fancy products like this, I was wondering if you guys have some tips for us for great vegetable starts. We still have a lot of plants to start in the weeks to come. We would love to hear from you!

I like those little jiffy pellets, we use to use them to start our herb seeds and they always worked well. For most part we now just sow directly into our potting soil and cover with plastic bags to speed up germination and try to keep the temperature close to 70-75°. It looks like you have a very nice setup for seed starting.
It looks like you're doing a great job with your seedlings. Isn't it amazing how much money you can save by growing from seed? I try to remember to give my seedlings a bit of diluted fish fertilizer (half strength) at a few weeks of age. It gives them a nice boost.
